On a previous visit, I heard Dee talking in the shop and so asked her what part of England was she from. We had an interesting conversation where she told me some of her story. Neither Tom nor I realized though that she was married to a Duarte. Of course, nobody can go to Pescadero without visiting historic Duarte’s and sampling their excellent food. Harley Goat Farm and Duarte’s is a wonderful combination. Thank you for sharing.

The tour at Harley Goat Farm sounds interesting and we certainly plan to go on one in the future.

Margaret, thought you’d be interested to know that Dee Harley hails from your part of the world. Dee’s from Yorkshire. She came to California as a young woman and married a local boy from Pescadero – Tim Duarte, who still runs his family’s restaurant, Duarte’s.

It’s easy to book into a tour, which includes trying your hand at milking and learning the basics of cheesemaking. And of course, cheese tasting!
