FIR over ‘Hindu Sabha’ organisers, but speakers not named

IN NEW videos from the ‘Virat Hindu Sabha’ organized by the local unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and other Hindu organizations on Sunday, BJP Loni’s MLA, Nand Kishor Gurjar, Seems To Admit He Was Involved In The 2020 Northeast Delhi riot. However, when contacted, he claimed he was talking about the violence in Loni, Ghaziabad.

Several VHP and BJP leaders attended the event on Sunday, where speeches were reportedly held against the Muslim community. BJP MP Parvesh Verma was among the speakers who called for a “total boycott” of a community. On Monday, Delhi police registered a case against unnamed organizers.

We took note of the issue and registered a FIR under IPC Section 188 (disobedience to law issued by an official). The organizers did not need permission from the police before organizing the event. We have taken legal action,” said R Sathiyasundaram, DCP (Shahdara). So far, no speaker or organizer has been named in the FIR, with a senior police officer saying they are still watching the video footage of the event.

On Sunday, several VHP leaders and BJP leaders attended the event where: speeches would have been given against the Muslim community. BJP MP Parvesh Verma was among the speakers who called for a “total boycott” of a community.

Several video clips of Gurjar appeared on Monday. In one you hear him say:Hum log kisi ko chedte nahi, lekin humari behen-beti ko chede toh usse hum chodte bhi nahin… Delhi ke andar caa pe danga hua. Tab ye jihadi Hinduon ko maarna shuru kiye. Toh monkey log the … apne ghar mei ghusa diya. Humare upar aarop laga diya ki hum 2.5 lakh log Delhi mein leke ghuse. Hum to samjhane ke liye gaye the, lekin hum par police ne mukadma darj kar diya ki humne jihadiyo ko maarne ka kaam kiya. Hum jihadiyo ko maarenge. Hamesha Maarenge.”

(“We are not bothering anyone, but if someone is bullying our sisters or daughters, we will not spare them. Riots broke out in Delhi because of CAA. That time these jihadists started killing Hindus…You people were there – you let us in. We were accused of bringing 2.5 lakh people to Delhi. We were only going to explain them, but the police registered a case against us for killing jihadists. We will kill jihadists, always will”.)

The rally was organized to protest the murder of a man identified as Manish, who was stabbed more than 20 times last week as he returned home to Sunder Nagri in East Delhi. Six people, identified as Sajid, Aalam, Bilal, Faizan, Mohsin and Shakir, have been arrested in the case. Police say the incident was the result of an old rivalry.

Referring to the incident, Gurjar can be heard saying, “This must not happen again. For the next plan we get 50,000 men from Loni. It does not matter. 50,000 men from Loni are coming for you. They also came earlier… when Delhi needs it. Because we don’t consider Delhi as another (entity).”

In his speech, Gurjar called Sunder Nagri “‘suar nagri” and Delhi said CM Arvind Kejriwal must be booked under NSA (National Security Act).

Dadri mein ek suar maara jaata hai gai kaatne waala Akhlaq, toh wahan saare ke saare, Rahul Gandhi se lekar Akhilesh aur Arvind Kejriwal, aise rote hain jaise inka damaad mar gaya ho… delhi mein hatya mein… inka muh nahi khulta (When Akhlaq is killed for cutting a cow in Dadri, Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh and Arvind Kejriwal cry as if their son-in-law has died. But before the murder in Delhi, they are silent),” Gurjar can be heard saying.

Meanwhile, organizers said they had notified police of the event. “The police have not approached us yet, but the FIR has no merit. We asked for their permission and informed them about the speeches and speakers. This was not a private event and invitations were also sent out. The police were present throughout the event. Many policemen were present. How can it be illegal?” said Indrajeet Singh, VHP’s head of state of electronic media.

In response to Gurjar’s speech, TRS Party Social Media Covenant Y Sathish Reddy posted a tweet saying: “BJP MLA Nand Kishore Gujjar openly admits he participated in mass violence in Delhi! Would BJP dare to take action against him?”

Gurjar, meanwhile, said he was not talking about the riots in Delhi, but the violence in Loni. “My fight is not against Muslims, but against those who kill Hindus every day. I wasn’t talking about riots in Delhi. I was talking about the Loni area and how we united in the fight against jihadists. I stand by my statement. I am ready to bring 50,000 men to Delhi if anything happens and I will attack these jihadists,” he said, without commenting on the alleged incident.
